This is my sister, Phoebe. When we were kids, she used to say lots of naughty things. I did not say naughty things, but I did insist on running around the house naked every night. Phoebe’s words got her mouth washed out with soap; my nakedness went unpunished.
Our parents had the right idea.

I remember when she and daniel used to sit on our porch and yell “POOPY PEE PENIS!” repeatedly at passersby. Or yell “YOU’RE FAT!” at the neighbors.
The vocabulary has changed but there is still remarkable continuity with the formative years.
