Let’s Do the Time Warp

For the next while, instead of scrambling to finish some new comics, I’m going to run a few old ones.  Many of you have already seen these, and for that I apologize, but I really need some time to focus on the other parts of my life (that is, attending four classes and two jobs, renewing my passport, applying to the Hampshire Berlin program, planning a short trip to Poughkeepsie, and beginning to put together my Division II portfolio).

The comics I’m running are a few of my favorites from a series I made last fall called “Mod 71.”  (For non-Hampshire people: a “mod” is like a house, but campus-owned.  You can live in them instead of in dorms, and cook for yourself.)  It was for a Hampshire class called “Sequential Imagery II,” and I worked on it for the entire semester, coming away with around 25 pages of comics.  I wasn’t being a particularly diligent student that semester: I doodled pages for this project during all three of my other classes.  But I learned a lot about drawing and comics—and hell, even the ethics of journalism.  I consider it time well spent.

This piece is obviously based on characters from Frank Miller’s Sin City.  Ten points if you can guess which character each person is based on.
