Gobble, Gobble.
You know what time it is (and hopefully don’t need the rest of that horrible quote from Gigli to remind you). Tomorrow we will all celebrate our American-ness by eating a shitload of food. (In case you miss the holiday for some reason, you can always make up for it by eating a shitload of food some other time.)
So I’m leaving for Brooklyn this morning to spend Thanksgiving with my Uncle Tom and Aunt Emily. I’ll be there through Sunday. If anyone reading this will be in the area, or has suggestions of things to do, please let me know! I’ve visited New York several times with my family, and my first year of college my roommate and I went for spring break. But this will be my first time going alone, without any obligation to do the usual tourist things. ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN.
That said, I will probably go to St Mark’s and Chinatown. And maybe hop a ferry if the weather’s all right.
PS Today is my little sister’s 19th birthday! If you know her, please annoy her with constant phone calls and emails.

Let me guess, St. Mark’s Comics.
Hey, maybe there’s something connected to Mingus or Monk or the Five Spot for your father’s stocking….

Ha. I like this. Mainly because Sam and I say that when we don’t want to get up to open our door.

Dad: I don’t even know what “The Five Spot” IS, so I would have done a really lousy job looking for it.

Hey Athena -
What, you’re too lazy to “wiki” it?

Maybe some other holiday visit to Uncle Tom.
Love and Monk,
Dad
