I Will Miss You.

So what I didn’t think through about this is, trying to draw all of your friends is like inviting people to your birthday party: inevitably, you forget someone.  This “Top 20” is dangerously close to MySpace’s “Top 8 Friends,” which is to say, LAME LIKE MIDDLE SCHOOL.  I promise it wasn’t meant that way!  These are just the 20 people I hung out with the most this semester, with an emphasis on people I got to know better in that time.  If you’re not on here, it’s probably because I hardly saw you, not an indication of me not liking you.

Anyway, I don’t have to see any of you till next September, so most of the hate (including my own) should have dissipated by then.  A silver lining in everything, there is.

What I am trying to say is, I will miss you guys.  Please don’t have too much fun without me, or forget my name, or find some other chick who does comics and sings and is rude but in a slightly more appealing way than me.

Are your holiday dinners digesting well?

Freddie is my favorite drawing here! We will miss you too!!!

  2. Tabitha Says:

Nah, the real danger here is offending the few people you did include. “Are my eyebrows really that thick in her mind?” or, “She put me next to HER? I’m way better than HER.” The only sure-fire way to do this one is the internet equivalent of those greeting cards in which the punchline involves there being a small mirror inside the card. Dear Internet, please make this possible.

There is something I find very funny about this topic, but should probably not be posted in a public forum. You’ll have to ask me sometime.

    ZOMG! <3

I’ll miss you too, Athena. Try, try, try to keep in touch. Send me your address for letters! :)

Unless I’m misinterpreting, I think mine might be the only face that’s not even slightly smiling. A for accuracy!

Dylan, I’m sorry I haven’t managed to talk to you on the phone! I hope you are saving whatever it is you find funny to tell me then. And I hope your janterm class is treating you well.
Joanna, yes, I wanna keep in touch–don’t know where I’m gonna live in Berlin yet, but hopefully I will by the time I get there!
Nate: I assure you, the lack of smile was not intentional, but it did just seem more natural to draw you that way.

Oh believe me, I know. Like I said - accuracy.

  9. Sir Captain Nathan L. Wootters III, Esq. Says:

I hit submit too fast, but to follow up on that, have you ever seen my doodles of myself? They’re all scowls - I don’t know how to draw myself with a smile except for that one creepy facebook picture, which I had a reference for.

And also, I think I already left a note with this sentiment but I’ll miss you and have fun in Berlin!

Tabitha: holy crap woah thick eyebrows are the HIGHEST compliment in my book. And I put waaay too much thought into who should be next to whom. And then wasn’t sure about the result anyway.

Nate: I tend to draw myself pretty scowl-y too. It’s that whole being-the-butt-of-your-own-joke thing. And I’ll miss you from Berlin! Hope the rest of your year goes well.

Not only is this amazing, but with a little work it could become a very awesome Hampshire-only version of ‘Guess Who’.

    “Is your person male?”
    “Yes.”
    “Does your person sleep?”
    “No.”
“Does your person refer to others by their names?”
    “Yes.”
    “Krellenstein.”
    “Damn it. Play again?”

  12. Athena Says:

Elizabeth, you made me crack up out loud. That is a hilarious and wonderful game idea–though perhaps too easy to win, in your example anyway.
