Minnesota is Nice

Omigosh guess where I am, P.S. it’s not the Midwest.

This comic is something I threw together thinking it could be my entry in this year’s City Pages comix issue, but then I decided that the art was crappy and messy, and the idea was cliche, not to mention way too similar to a comic I already did, so I didn’t turn anything in. That was lame; better to turn in something than to just give up.

But the other problem was the topic, “Minnesota Nice.” At first I thought it was a GREAT topic, because I love how snarky and back-handed the whole “Minnesota Nice” thing is. But as you may have realized by now, I had a really, really good time in Minnesota this summer, so when it came down to it, it was hard for me to think of something snarky and back-handed to say about the place.

OH WELL, I guess there is next year. Next summer. Even though, right now, that seems a million years away.

I was so stressed and wired about flying back that I got a total of ONE HOUR of sleep the night before my flight. From 3:30 to 4:30 AM. Then I had to get up so mom could drive me to the airport. The upside is, I read the entirety of “Black Hole” that night. It was good!

I’M IN BOSTON, BITCHES.

    w00t! Boston!

How long are you here for? I have off from work tomorrow and memberships to the Aquarium and museum of science that can get me and a friend in for free.

Doyle: Shoot, Semple and I are leaving early on Thursday morning, so I will not be able to see you! So you’d better make it your business to drive to western mass sometime in the near future.

Danno: I miss the MN cartoonist community too!!!!!

Will do. I’m trying to convince Peter and several others that it’s the best idea ever to go to Amherst/Northampton for Andiamo’s and Osaka, among other foods.
