Summer 2009 Pt 4
And that concludes our Summer 2009 series. We are now officially back in New England.
Being a Div III is strange, but so far not unenjoyable. Neither of my two classes starts till next week, so here’s a list of this week’s mega accomplishments:
* Got my work study hours figured out. Two jobs, same ones as last fall.
* Set up meetings with both my Div II and Div III committees. Both are next Wednesday.
* Outlined my Div III plans more carefully.
* Got a farm share.
* Bought a calendar. Laid out lots of dates.
* Bought a new dip pen.
* Drew and inked some comics.
* Bought tickets: 1) Jonathan Coulton at the Iron Horse, 2) Neko Case/Calexico at the Calvin.
* Put together the PDF for the Minnipeg comic, and ordered 150 copies at Duplications.
* Got my hair trimmed.
* Read Dash Shaw’s “Bottomless Belly Button.”
* Arranged and organized my room to a level I am pleased with.
“Not unenjoyable” is definitely the right term. But it’s difficult to picture nine months of this.

Hey Athena -
I am crabby today (maybe you got it from me). Here’s your own personal taste of my ‘tude:
“Arranged and organized my room to a level with which I am pleased” sounds better to my ear.
The Old Man Band is doing our DJJD gig at the Cow tonight; second set is Cowboy Songs.
It’s pretty traffic crazy here in Downtown Northfield, I’m not sure how I’ll haul my equipment.
Love and Ghost Riders in the Sky,
Dad

BOTTOMLESS BELLY BUTTON hurt my soul.

Ah I was just listening to Calexico earlier today!

Neko Case’s concert at the Calvin is the same night as the Hampshire Scholar’s Suck-Up-to-Rich-People DInner! Can I bat my eyelashes at you and get you to record it? (or better yet – I promise I /wont/ bat my eyelashes at you if you record it. because me + that sort of coquettery could not but = ew.)

I like that the shit you caught up on was Barf.

I think the BARF frame would be suitable as a poster.

I think this might be your raciest strip yet.

Hey Dad: Thanks for gettin’ all grammar nazi on me. You and mom must be spending too much time together now that Phoebs and I are gone. Your visit to the East Coast can’t come soon enough.
Evan: Done! And what a lovely issue it was.
Danno: I know! What a book.
Ben: Dude, they rock. I can’t wait for the show.
DAK: By “record,” do you mean make some sort of comic about it? That would be fun. Though now I feel like I may have dashed all my potential for a bright future by missing the Rich People Dinner. You should tell all the rich folks how special I am.
Goldfeather: I barfed, I shat. It was a good summer.
Mom: Yeah! It would be like a motivational poster, to power me through Div III.
Casey: It’s because YOU came to visit, young man.
Goldfeather: COOL YOUR JETS, WOMAN.

Don’t worry, Athena. When you get tired of Semple, he can move to the dorms and I will move in to your mod and we will be a happy family! Until I wear a bunch of Zionist t-shirts just to bug Hannah.
