I Got In.
I GOT IN TO THE CENTER FOR CARTOON STUDIES!!!!
This is how it went:
I go to check my mail at the post office.
In my mailbox, I find a small envelope that says “Center for Cartoon Studies.”
I get excited enough that I literally TOPPLE OVER ONTO THE FLOOR (albeit, my mailbox is very near the floor, so I always have to do an awkward topple-prone crouch to get at my mail).
I open the envelope and pull out…the beautiful “How to Start to Think About Learning To Draw Comics, Plus a Guidebook to the Center for Cartoon Studies,” illustrated by Kevin Huizenga. I’m like, okay, cool, great, but I already picked one of these up last year at SPX. Is that all they sent me? Is this just ’cause I’m on their mailing list or something?
BUT THEN.
I notice that I can see some text through the envelope. I fish around and pull out…a single sheet of paper which informs me that I have been accepted for Fall 2010!
Ohhhhh my goodness.
PS Go listen to this song that Madelyn Hartke’s band made, it’s beautiful!!!!!

Also, this is my favorite comic that you’ve made, possibly ever. The pacing is so fantastic.

Congratulations, again. Any chance we’ll get to see the robot/fruit/ocean/you comic you submitted as part of your application?
