Dang Gum 4
DEAR LORD it pains me to keep looking at this old comic. I’M SO SORRY, GUYS. Though I guess I do sort of appreciate the fact that this page pokes fun at my old mr. movies boss, Mr. Dan Fangmeier. He did not have an eye patch, but he was really scary.
Yesterday Sarah and I spent the night in St Paul at Chris and Ian’s. It was an excellent time as always. But boy howdy am I tired today!
Oh, I wanted to say a little more about last Friday:
1) Susan Douglas was great; I found myself jotting down her every other sentence into my notepad. Her new book, she says, is basically “Where the Girls Are” for the 1990’s—that is, her daughter’s generation (her daughter is 21—omg, like me!). Her speech included references to, among other things: the Spice Girls, Buffy, Beverly Hills 90210, Gossip Girl, Mad Men, and the Jersey Shore. Afterwards, I got her to sign my copy of “Where the Girls Are.” And gushed a bit.
2) Our show at the Cow was lovely. Set list included: Moon River, You Belong to Me, Tennessee Tobacco, and this awesome Lisa Hannigan song.
Oh gosh. I’m feeling frankly terrified of Hampshire and Burn Book. Turns out I much prefer Northfield and journal comics.

Oh, oh, we have to go back to college and finish our Div IIIs? Oh, well. Not that I’m having that much fun at this point, but the rest of that does sound scary.

Lovely Tabitha! I’m glad you share at least some of my final semester fear. I’m anxious to hear more about your break/janterm. I hope Portland gave you a welcome homecoming.
