Brain Labor
It’s so beautiful outside!
Yesterday afternoon Chris and Lizz and I sat outside at a Prescott picnic table and drank Dark and Stormies made with Chris’ homemade ginger beer.
Today I walked outside to go to the library and scan this very comic, and I found Chris and Lizz and a bunch of dudes at the same table. Chris had brought out his chess set, and Lizz had brought her hookah.
Lizz told me this story of a fight she overheard last spring in Prescott, in the backyard area behind our old mod (she thinks the fight may have been about the word “fag” being used):
GUY 1: She was. A SOCIAL. ACTIVIST. And you FUCKED it up for me.
GUY 2: Nuh uh.
GUY: You can’t SAY that to a SOCIAL. ACTIVIST. It’s OFFENSIVE.
(Guys 1 and 2 argue back and forth for awhile about this. Clearly, Guy 2 said something offensive that ended up cockblocking Guy 1.)
(Guy 3 enters the conversation.)
GUY 3: Guys! Guys! My Uncle–
(Very long pause.)
GUY 3: My Uncle is a CIVIL RIGHTS LAWYER, and I think what HE would say about this is, WORDS are not offensive. They are only offensive if they are SAID with the INTENT to OFFEND.
Happy weekend, everybody. Happy spring. Happy 70 degrees.

First off I love imagining your father telling you they have to remove a cord in your brain. Also, I love the image of your mother and father holding your brain cord as if it was a rope in a tug-of-war. Overall, enjoyable comic.

Hannah, I’m so glad I finally got to meet you! You’re awesome, and I love your taste in art projects and room decorating! I’m happy you guys had fun in New York. If I get to see you again (this summer? next school year?) I’ll definitely put you in a comic.
William: Thanks! It was such a strange dream. Obviously I am NOT mentally prepared to have a baby yet. Or ever?
Ironically, one of my cousins gave birth to her first child this morning! It’s a girl.

Ian, you were the first person I thought of when I heard it.
