Five Thirty AM
Tomorrow I get to sleep in until SIX AM!
I’m real tired, but things are still good. Yesterday mom bought me my very own long arm stapler. Just THINK of the minicomics! I am so excited. And today the mail brought me my very first Pentel Pocket Brush Pen. It was used for the above drawing. I’ve never used one before, and it’s an extremely different tool than a nib and dip ink, but I think I’m going to enjoy playing with it.
What else is there to say? I finally finished my Broken Pencil comic (it won’t be on the website till the next issue hits newsstands, though). The jam was fun: I foisted my Sushi and little funny comics onto Danno, and learned that Sarah Morean is at it again with Navel Distro (this sounds so great). Also, I have now made myself a profile on the Altered Esthetics website.
Oh! And all the speeches I mentioned in my commencement comic are now on YouTube.
Ummm and just for the heck of it, here is a photo of me on the day I first arrived at Hampshire (my student ID photo is on the left), versus the day I left (that’s the Quabbin Reservoir behind me):

PS I have a ticket to see Why? at First Ave on June 26. You should get one, too!

You improve with age, Athena.

(I do not mean this in a backhanded compliment sort of way, but only in the purest sense.)

You get used to the waking up at 5:30 thing eventually. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m usually in bed by 12 or 1 and up by 5:30. It’s fun!

I still have yet to see you at Blue Monday, but I’ve only been there 3 times since getting back on Wednesday night.
Also, I totally saw Why? posters in Israel. They were really cool, so maybe I’ll have to actually see the guys.

You’ve only gotten more beautiful…

Glad to see you back in the fold! Hope you can make it to Cahoots next Thursday!

Casey: Why thank you! I think the same is very much true of you.
Doyle: That’s hopeful to hear. I think I need to train myself to be more of a nap-taking person. It’s either that or total old person hours, and I’m not quite ready for that.
Evan: Man, a Why? concert in Israel? That would’ve been cool, too bad you missed it. But then, I missed seeing Lady Gaga in Berlin. I think it was only like 14 euro or something, too. It was right before she got huge. This will perhaps be The Great Regret of my life.
Mom: STOP!!!
Jon: Sorry I haven’t made it to a St Paul jam yet!! Maybe this coming Thursday?? We’ll see!
