Bill Haverchuck
Bill Haverchuck sometimes reminds me of my friend William. I hope William isn’t insulted by that. They don’t look alike: it’s just that both Bill and William are/were comfortable with their geekiness in a way most high schoolers never are, both are straightforward/practical/never phony, and both say some really funny shit.
Sorry this is a just a quick little comic: yesterday I worked a long time on my submission for this year’s City Pages Comix Issue (and finished it!), did a little planning on my “Big Comics Project” (I’m still kinda nervous about sharing the title or any other details), worked on some stuff for my Zinefest booth (the Burn Books are supposed to arrive by Thursday!), aaaaaand now I am putting together a giant binder of the things I’m applying to for next year.
Sometimes regularly updated autobio webcomics are a big commitment, I guess! That must be why best buds Adam Cadwell and Marc Ellerby have both decided to end their long-running series. I will miss them!

Have you seen Party Down? Martin Starr plays a very similar character, only now he’s all grown up! And a hard sci-fi writer. It’s great!

We have been watching Freaks and Geeks over here!! And tonight I declared that Bill was my favorite, and THEN I read Action Athena. IT IS DESTINY, MY SPOUSE.

Lizz: I LOVE Party Down! I was sad to hear it isn’t coming back for a third season, but at least the second season wrapped things up nicely. I also just saw Martin Starr in Adventureland; he was great. I think I sort of have a big crush on him.
Goldfeather: Yay for still watching the TV shows, albeit in separate states! And YAY for Bil!
