Nap Or No Nap
Only one week of August left!
Geez, I feel like I’ve spent way too much of this summer indoors…
That very much includes the past two days, which were devoted entirely to 1) working and 2) drawing my annual four-page Summer Comic. I think the comic looks pretty cool, though! I guess it’s worth a total lack of tan? You can decide for yourselves next Monday, because that’s when the first page’ll go up.

this perfectly encapsulates what it’s like when d+c are out of town. not pictured: having the same conversations with the same people everyday for eleven days straight. kdwb. the five o’clock funnies. being so tired you almost barf.

Gonna submit your summer comic to the Omen again, Athena? Alum submissions are totally kosher.

This was already a GREAT comic…but the last line put it in the exceptional category! Note the time that this is being typed. You are at work. I’ve been up an hour. Yeeesh!

After working at a cafe for 2 years and waking up before 6 most days, I’ve decided sleep is overrated.
Then again, I’m always exhausted and unable to work on anything fun or meaningful once I get home.

It has taken me four years to get used to waking up at five.

Alex: Ha, thanks! Poor Abby, she’s had way too many baking days this summer… And two other jobs!! Makes me feel like a whiner for any complaining I’ve done about my 5:30 opens.
Mom: Yeah, I’ve been doing these on auto-update a lot, so they’ve been going up right in the middle of my Blue Monday shifts, which is weird. You and I are both awake much too early these days.
Doyle: As I remember, you tended to get up absurdly early even in college. And then you and Freddy would just sit in the Mod 65 living room playing video games. Man, those were the days. Wonder what Freddy’s doing with himself right now.
Ben: Ha, I guess the army could do that to a person. Now you’ll probably never be able to sleep in for the rest of your life…
AndrewT: Remember when you BRAGGED about how awesome it felt to sleep in until 8 or whatever? Jerk.
