Summer 2010 Pt 1

First page of the annual Summer Comic!

For those readers who are new/don’t remember, I’ve done a four-page comic about my summer at the end of each August for the past three years.  The first one, from the summer of 2007, was like, one of my first real comics.  (By which I mean, I was proud of it and took it seriously.)  I made it about six months before I started Action Athena, and before I’d done my “Mod 71″ comics or my “Lansing’s True Value Hardware” comic or anything.  (By which I mean, before I’d fully realized I was going to be obsessed with making comics for the rest of my life.)  I had so much fun making it–even though I drew a lot of it while riding a 36-hour Greyhound back to college!  It was that fun a comic.

The summer comics are always fun!  I hope you guys will have fun reading this one!

ALSO: There is some cartoonist name-dropping in this page.  They’re people I’ve mentioned before, but in any case:

Lars Martinson
Mike Toft
Sarah Morean

    Cannot wait to see more!

If you can get this all into 4 pages I will be impressed. I could do 4 on August alone. AND THERE IS STILL ONE DAY LEFT!!!

  3. Athena Says:

    Thanks, Lance!

And Danno, it was definitely a challenge…MIX could’ve been a minicomic all its own. Also, I’m looking forward to seeing you at KFAI on Saturday! We’ll have to come up with some real hardball questions to grill you with…
